I honestly don't understand the complaint. There are different angles, different times of day, and honestly, it's a lovely theme. Besides, it's what's around you, so why not paint it?

My feeling too!! 💕

It's such an unnecessary comment because they're not adding anything for you or creating a connection. They're just being negative for the fun of it. Even if I was bored with someone's art, I wouldn't tell someone they shouldn't paint it. That's not constructive. It might just mean their art isn't for me or it's not for me right now. 🤗

Exactly! 🤗

It really is upsetting when someone seems to want to crush us with words. I know that feeling, then we second guess ourselves and feel 'off' for a few days until we finally snap out of it.

Keep doing you! Love your art!!

Thanks so much Jeannine!!

You paint what inspires you! I love all you paint! I’ve only begun painting in watercolor and I paint flowers. Your paintings inspire me and thank you for sharing your beautiful work.

Thank you Patricia!!

I live in Canada and absolutely love your paintings and your photos!

😻😻

I have never been to Oregon but they do inspire me to visit one day. They

portray a beautiful place that feeds

my heart and soul daily! I love looking at them and I thank you for sharing such beauty. Please keep painting them! ❤️

Thank you for such a beautiful compliment/comment Cathy! 💕

I'll never understand how some people feel entitled to tell others how they should express themselves.

And I do love cats! :)

The world is weird! Big Hug Sara!!

Your paintings are gorgeous and endlessly varied. Only someone who is clueless would call them repetitive. I had a comment a few weeks ago that my art was mediocre, which was such a bland and pointless insult it made me laugh.

K.L. Rockwell's avatar

lol! Your art is so far from mediocre that makes me laugh too. And thank you Emily, for your amazing support and encouragement. 💕

I love your paintings! (In fact, I look for them.) Every time we look at a familiar sight, it appears differently to us, thereby calling for a new painting!

K.L. Rockwell's avatar

Thank you so much Liz!! 💕 🤗

Simply adding a thank you for taking me back to a wonderful west coast trip with every sea, sky, tree and contour 😊

Really! How rude. It would be like someone telling me I paint too many gum leaves and stones. You keep painting what you love, we all enjoy and admire your work.

K.L. Rockwell's avatar

Big hug Sally! And I love all your gum leaves and stones!!!

If somebody said that to me, the first thing I would do is go look at THEIR paintings.

Just kidding - very doubtful one artist would say that to another artist.

K.L. Rockwell's avatar

And that is why I will always pick you to be on my kick ball team! 🫶🏻🥰

My goodness, it was only a suggestion, not a command. And the commenter made you go through the process of self-examination as an artist. Critique is valuable, although sometimes it hurts. Get a grip and take the lesson for what it is.

Oh, and I like cats, too.

K.L. Rockwell's avatar

Thanks Sue!! Nothing wrong with a little self examination. 💕

Start with a foggy day — uniform gray. Ask the poster if this is better.

lol…good thinking! 😊

I mean, if they’re going to criticize. The view out the window changes constantly, even as it never changes.

The central Oregon coast is beautiful so thank you for capturing its loveliness in paintings. Your cats are beautiful also!😻
