Amazing work! I always find it interesting what happens when we push through βœ¨πŸ’• Not exactly pushing, but when we just keep going even when it’s uncomfortable.

Yes exactly! When we keep showing up.

That dastardly cat, I hope it hasn’t also decided to re configure your furnishings as well, just like our granddaughters did… I love cats but they love my husband more, one reason we don’t have one and he doesn’t like cats at all, strange that! What ingenious ways to store your paints and brushes, as I don’t have a cat I can quite freely leave my brushes on the work table, at present pushed into blocks of styrene foam, I would like something prettier. A fun post today and informative in relation to the books you recommended. πŸŽ¨πŸ“š

We have had cats for decades, but this one (six months old) is a totally different personality. One day she was carrying my husband’s size 12 shoe to her secret hoard. And your granddaughters rearranged your furniture for you?? Hahaha. Very cat like.

Actually it was her bear as new couch. My sisters grand cats finally shredded parts of her lounge and a lounge chair. Grrr

It should have read her new Not bear. I was writing a message the other day, had finished but was talking before I sent and it kept on typing, and no I hadn’t pressed the microphone

I don’t know if you’re considering making prints of some specific ones, but I love the night sky so much I think you should consider it!

I am considering it…I have been a little intimidated by technology but we have all the tools here I just need to play around a bit. Stay tuned!!

I’ve tried journaling many times over the years and always gotten stuck thinking there must be a purpose. I’m a different person now so thank you for reintroducing the idea to me. I love the small evergreen scene in this post. I had an emotional response and am realizing it reminds me of the neighborhood in which we had the happiest years in my childhood. Is it available? I don’t see it on your site and would love to have it right from your tablet with no matting or accoutrement. ❀️ I will share it in a restack as I cannot attach it here.

Hi Cori!! I am the same with journaling, so the morning pages have been something I resisted for years. I think when I embraced the β€œstream of consciousness” writing I was able to reduce my expectations. I am seeing now the purpose isn’t what I am writing, it is how my brain is shifting when I write.

I am so happy to hear that you resonated with the painting. The original is not available, however I did capture some high res scans and am planning on making prints in the next few weeks. πŸ€—

"My days are now bookended - morning pages and evening painting." What wonderful bookends for your days. And I love your storage suggestions, especially the MEEDEN Pro Beech Wood Portable Storage Box for your pencils. Beautiful! The Ikea HARVMATTA letter tray is brilliant for pallets. As always, love your work. P.S. The photo of Fluffles is timeless and how curious of her to hide your brushes (jealousy, perhaps?). So "cat"! 😁

Thanks Mary!! The Meeden storage box is amazing. Everything that was on my desk is all tucked away…erasers, smudgers, pens, pencils, etc. I was thinking of buying one more but everything fit in two. And they stacked so nicely.

I think Fluffles was bringing gifts to my son. He would find the brushes next to his head when he woke up in the morning. 🀭

Welcome, and the Meeden storage box sounds exactly what I need, and I love that they stack, too. Your cat is so sweet to bring the gifted brushes to your son. Love that story - it would make such a great picture book or board book!

His book is so beautiful isn’t it?! The letter tray is really nice. It has cork so the palettes don’t slip and slide and the trays pull out so you can store quite a bit. Hope you are having a great weekend! Thanks for reading. πŸ€—

Yes, it's a beautiful book. And definitely looking into the letter tray or something like it as my 'studio' space was reduced since we moved my mother-in-law in.

I have never made it very far in The Artist’s Way. I struggle with too much structure and prefer creative prompts that keep things open and even vague. That may all be just an avoidance of vulnerability who knows.

Huge thanks for mentioning my book! I’m really happy it is serving as a form of inspiration for you. It’s a huge compliment.

I have picked it up at least once a year for the past decade and read chapter one. This year I read chapter one AND two, and then incorporated the morning pages in and am focusing on that. I struggle with too much structure too…and as soon as I β€œhave” to do something I am looking for a way out.

My pleasure with the shout out. You did good!!
